Ok, I Think I’ve Done It

So you silly Sallies, I think I have discovered a way to fit my collection into Ten essential games (with, you know, twenty essential caveats and cheats).  Over the rest of the week I will unveil them to you and you will most certainly cast aside what you thought you knew about gaming and agree with me wholeheartedly.

There is some theory about collection organization on BGG that I could look up if I didn’t ban that website in this household but per that nameless theory I have divined Ten types of games that I would deem essential.  I will tease you with those types before I get into the titles.

-The Abstract

-The 90 Minute Euro

-The long Euro

-The 2 Player Card Game

-The Dexterity Game

-The Negotiation Game

-The Economic Game

-The Eurotrash

-The Tile Laying Game

-Your Other 90 Minute Euro (Because obviously Caylus is your first one, and you want to fit Burgundy/Agricola/Hansa Teutonica in somehow)

Do keep in mind that I am only pulling games from my own collection.  This is not an endorsement to go buy any of these games (well, unless you don’t have 10 games yet, you’ve fully funded your Roth IRA, you have no consumer debt and you have an eight month emergency fund. Then, buy away).  Au contraire, mon frere, look inside your own heart/collection to create your essential list.  I’d love to hear about it and then play those games with you!
